How to create a WhatsApp template

Click New Template on the templates screen. Sunshine Conversations sends the template to Meta for approval.

Basic information

1. Choose the Sunshine integration (the WhatsApp number).
2. Give the template a name, using lowercase letters and underscores (for example, boas_vindas_cliente).
3. Choose the category: Utility (notifications and updates) or Marketing (promotions).
4. Choose the language.
5. Follow the live preview.

Header and body

1. Choose the header (optional): none, text (up to 60 characters), image, video, GIF, or document.
2. For an image, video, GIF, or document, paste the file URL or click Upload.
3. Write the message body, with up to 1,024 characters.

4. Click + Variable to insert variables such as {{{{1}}}} and {{{{2}}}}, which are filled in when the message is sent. Use *text* for bold and _text_ for italics.
5. Write a footer (optional), such as "Don't want to receive more? Reply STOP".
6. Add up to 10 buttons: quick reply (Quick Reply), link (Visit URL), phone call (Call Phone), copy code (Copy Code), or opt-out (Opt Out).

When you're finished, save the template. It becomes available for sending after it is approved.

Edit a template

1. In the template list, click Edit. The name and language of an existing template cannot be changed.
2. Make your changes and click Save Changes.
